چکیده
Characterization of genetic diversity is the foundation step for crop improvement, which provides a basis analyzing combining ability and heterosis inbred genotypes during hybridization program. An investigation was carried out at field laboratory Genetics Plant Breeding department in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, to elucidate architecture by evaluating 12 morphological 4 molecular (SSR) markers within 52 diverse S1 genotypes, assess relationship GD. almost equal amount PCV GCV coupled with high heritability advance traits cob weight (gm), NKPC, NKPR lead selection promising based on these characters. Correlation coefficient scatter plot matrix established positive strong KL (mm), KW KT (mm) 100 kernel (gm) suggesting importance morphology. Mahalanobis D2 statistics revealed highest inter-cluster distance between I II. The percentages variance population among were 76% 14 %, respectively. optimum K-value 5. Heatmap relying GD exposed MMIL-28, MMIL-54, MMIL-96 as most lines. SHE analysis hypothesized increase richness over time. Less correlation divergence generated from suggested that variation may be determined environmental factors also factors. A strategy effective predicting parental lines future program developed.

Determination of levels of Striga germination Stimulants for maize gene bank accessions and elite inbred lines
Parasitism by Striga hermonthica (Del) Benth is a severe constraint in maizeproduction in sub-Saharan Africa. Varying levels of tolerance to Striga attack havebeen identified and exploited in breeding programs of several crops. However, thelevel and stability of the tolerance is generally unacceptable in field-practice. Onlylimited exploration has been undertaken among the farmers’ landraces to...
متن کاملAccelerating the Inbreeding of Multi-Parental Recombinant Inbred Lines Generated By Sibling Matings
Inbred model organisms are powerful tools for genetic studies because they provide reproducible genomes for use in mapping and genetic manipulation. Generating inbred lines via sibling matings, however, is a costly undertaking that requires many successive generations of breeding, during which time many lines fail. We evaluated several approaches for accelerating inbreeding, including the syste...
متن کاملIncreasing Kernel Density for Two Inbred Lines of Maize
Improving grain quality of maize (Zea mays L.), including endospermhardness and density, is often a breeding objective.Dense seed is preferred by dry millers and for alkaline processing, and can command a price premium at market. This study attempted to increase kernel density in a backcrossing program for two inbreds of maize using two selection techniques, specific gravity of kernels and the ...
متن کاملdiversity and potential heterotic group determination of khuzestan maize inbred lines by issr molecular markers
since crosses of lines with suitable genetic distance produce excellent hybrids, the identification of genetic diversity between zea mays l. inbred lines in hybrid maize breeding programs has a high priority. a total of 27 inbred lines plus b73 and mo17 (sc704 parents) were evaluated by 15 inter-simple sequence repeat (issr) primers. inbreds were selected randomly from inbred lines from the agr...
